We Did a Mission Tortilla Taste Test

So last night my kiddos and I decided we wanted basically munchies for dinner, so we had some cheese sticks, fries (oven baked) and quesadillas. I had two packs of Mission Tortillas in the pantry so I told the kids we were gonna do something fun for dinner – a taste test. We had Mission Yellow Corn Tortillas Extra Thin and Mission White Corn Tortillas.
VS.
Now you’d think a corn tortilla is just a corn tortilla, not so. My son loved the yellow corn tortilla and I couldn’t even get him to try the white corn. He liked the yellow corn tortillas and that was that and he’s never had yellow corn tortillas before usually white corn. He was not going to try anything else. He’d made up his mind and there was not changing it. My daughter on the other hand, liked the white corn and didn’t care for the yellow corn. Why is it always that way, no two kids like the same type. So, I guess I’m the tie breaker. I voted white corn with Princess and here’s why. Although both were good, I found the white corn to be softer and personally I preferred the taste and texture. It was only a slight taste difference but between the two I’d have to go with the white corn.
Both the white corn and yellow corn tortillas have zero g Trans fat per serving, No lard, No cholesterol. The packaging on the yellow corn tortillas note Gluten Free. I was just checking out all the great recipes on MissionMenus.com This one looked especially good: Baked Chipotle Chicken Flautas Check it out I’m sure you’ll find some great recipes your family will love.

Nature and Science Blended for Beauty

Now before I get started let me tell you this post includes a review, and links to a $5 coupon and our giveaway!
What is it women want in their beauty products and what works best? According to one survey*, women believe that beauty product with both natural and proven scientific technologies work best. A mixture of both worlds if you will. That’s what beauty brand, mirra provides.
I am one of those moms who want the natural elements in my hair, face and body care but I also want products that are effective and that in my opinion takes some scientific study. So, when I was given the change to test out mirra products which are made with natural ingredients as well as scientific technologies I agreed.

The Products and Review: mirra RENEW Micro-Remodeling Cream, Wrinkle Reduction Eye Creme, Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner, Protective Body Lotion & Body Wash and Exfoliating & Detoxifying Cleanser
mirra products are made with natural ingredients, such as olive oil, aloe leaf juice, cranberry, bamboo, honey and chicory root extracts. mirra products also use proven technologies – the revolutionary oleosome emulsion technology is used in skin care products to deliver long lasting moisture that keeps protecting and nourishing skin long after application. I could certainly tell.
My face felt great from the time I put it on till the time I washed my face at night and even then it felt silky soft when rinsing it with water. I tend to have dry skin and with these products, I’ve noticed that my facial skin isn’t dry anymore (surprising to me considering the cold weather).
I really like the way the Micro-Remodeling Cream and Wrinkle Reduction Eye Cream make my face feel – both soft to the touch yet firming. It’s hard to explain, you’ll have to try it and then you will understand.
The Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner: the shampoo did a really good job of getting the daily hair products out of my hair and the conditioner really helped my dry, brittle hair. My hair actually didn’t frizz like it usually does and it’s soft to the touch which I love. It also has been great not only because it’s helping my color treated hair but my hair color seems to be staying long than usual.
The Protective Body Lotion: had a mild scent and was thin but not runny which I like but it left me feeling just a tad bit sticky which I wasn’t fond of even though the feeling didn’t last long.
The Protective Body Wash: has a wonderful, invigorating scent yet is not overpowering. It left my body feeling soft and silky and isn’t that what we all want?
The Exfoliating & Detoxifying Cleanser: I really liked not only the way it cleaned my face with it’s oxygenated derma-beads (which by the way were rough enough to clean but gentle enough that it didn’t irritate my skin) but I also liked how soft it made my face.

Rainbow Brite is Back and Brighter Than Ever!

Yes, that’s right, your childhood favorite is back and she’s brighter than ever. I received a special Rainbow Brite CD Pak from BSM Media to review with my daughter and extras to share with other moms.
As soon as my daughter saw what they were, she promptly asked if she could have one and popped it into her computer. So far, everyday she’s asked if she could play her Rainbow Brite CD. It’s such a flashback to hear but a good flashback.
Rainbow Brite spreads her positive message of kindness, hope and courage. It’s so good to see those messages we relate to our daughters reinforced loud and clear to hear and learn from.
The beautiful, bright colors will capture your eye, the positive messages will appeal to both yours and your child’s heart.
My little Princess enjoys putting the puzzles pieces together and the video (animated short). She’s not hooked up to the printer so she can’t print out coloring pages for herself so I get to that part. It’s great to share something positive with my daughter. Princess is excited too, that she can share the extra CDs with her classmates and friends.
You can visit Rainbow Brite and her two loyal friends Moonglow and Tickled Pink and their companion horse friends: Starlite, Shimmer and Sunrise online by visiting www.rainbowbrite.com There you’ll find four new Rainbow Brite animated adventures in Rainbow Land mini episodes.
She says her favorite is “Tickled Pink, ’cause she’s all pinkalicious and Rainbow Brite ’cause she’s all bluealicious and Moonglow ’cause she’s all purpleicious” (well, at least she’s not partial) and she said it with the biggest, most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen.
Anything that makes my little Princess smile like that gets a “gold star” from me.
Oh, I can only imagine how excited Princess will be when she sees the newest Rainbow Brite fashion doll collection, which is now available at Target stores and this month will also become available at Toys R’ Us. Check www.rainbowbrite.com for availablity.
Disclosure: I was provided with the Rainbow Brite CD pack free of charge from BSM Media Mom Select and Hallmark but it in no way influences my review or my daughters’ enjoyment of the Rainbow Brite line of products and website.
