Living on a special diet can be difficult enough when you’re home but when you are traveling the last thing you want to worry about is finding foods you can eat. This is another area in which Disney excels!
Common Food Allergies include:
– gluten or wheat
– lactose or dairy
– peanuts and tree nuts
As a wife and mom, I’m always concerned about what my family eats. Being on a gluten free diet and having another family members who have health issue with gluten tends to become an area of great distress when traveling. (insert image of food allergy noted on receipt)
But I have to say, Disney sure does know how to care for their guests. They take every precaution when it comes to their guests’ safety. But they can’t do their job right if you don’t tell them. If you have a food allergy or issue, be sure to mention it to your server and/or ask to speak to the chef or manager as soon as you arrive. They will let the chef know and the chef will come out and speak to you personally and let you know what is available and what they can make for you. This is the case at both table-service and quick-service restaurants. Just ask!
Plus they carry *______*! It’s Gluten-Free products. Wow, these are absolutely delicious.
Don’t wait till you get to Disney to let them know of any food allergies. When you make your dining reservations let them know then. If you forget or aren’t sure if you mentioned it when you made your ADR’s email them at firstname.lastname@example.org. I did this and received a list of all the restaurant items at each park, at each restaurant to review prior to our trip. This gave us a better idea of what we could eat and where depending on which park were were at for the day. Makes planning much easier. We simply put it on our phones to refer back to. Plus there are lots of options for fresh fruits as snacks as well which I thought was great!
I must say, every meal we had at Disney was exceptional! From the conference meals to the meals we shared on the days following the event, we felt good knowing the choices we made were healthy ones that followed our lifestyle dietary needs.
I’ll be sharing a post with all the Disney deliciousness we enjoyed with you soon. So keep an eye out for it. It will make your mouth water for sure.
Disclosure: I paid a fee to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I am not required nor was I asked to share my experiences. I do so because it was an experience too good not to share.
