As we have seen from past experiences, I am no scientist but I figured with my bright little gal by my side I couldn’t go too wrong. We decided to give the Blissful Body Mist Kit by www.giddyup.com a try! She was really excited to try it out.
With the Blissful Body Mist Kits, we got to design our very own body mists. We read through the booklet and learned a bit about our sense of smell and how it works. We also talked about different scents we like and picked out a scent for our first body mist experiment. She of course chose the strawberry scent as it was pink in color so she was immediately drawn to it.
We followed the very easy to follow instructions, timed it to see what would happen at different intervals, discussed what happened when we put the dye/fragrance into the body mist base. She says, “mommy, it’s like I’m a scientist!”. I loved the little confidence boost it gave her and the time it gave us to talk and learn together but after a few minutes and no color change, the addition of more pink dye and still no color change she decided this wasn’t for her. So, I proceeded on my own.
It took quite a bit of pink to make any color change at all. Not so with the other two fragrances. Maybe if we had started with one of the others it would have held her attention longer.
She did however love that I added the sparkles to the mist and she even wore the light aroma of the Vanilla scented Body Mist to school today. She also claimed them all and took them to her bathroom vanity. I’m sure she’ll enjoy wearing the body mists over the next few weeks and telling all her friends she made them herself. lol (Ssshhhh, they don’t need to know it wasn’t “all” by herself.)
Along with a recommendation for adding enough pink dye to actually turn the strawberry scented body mist pink, it would have been nice to have a smaller label on the base so you could actually see any color changes easily and also room to write the name of the scent on the bottles as well or perhaps even stickers to pretty up the bottles. You know how little girls love pretty things.
